CEO Agha Zafar Abbas, as chief guest at ACCA Lahore chapter new member ceremony
ACCA held a ceremony, on 27 March 2013 at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club –Lahore, to welcome and mark the achievements of new members. The ceremony was opened by Arif Masud Mirza; Head of ACCA Pakistan, who welcomed the new members to the ACCA fraternity. Agha Zafar Abbas, Chief Executive Kansai Paint (Pvt) Ltd was the honorable Chief Guest at the event. He discussed the role of existing members in giving greater access to better employment opportunities through the growing ACCA networks and the importance of professional accountants towards creating sustainable growth in an economy like Pakistan. He said that he saw ACCA’s as strategists and business leaders re-shaping the future of the country.
Other distinguished guests at the ceremony were Salman Hafeez Malik; Chief Financial Officer Crescent Bahuman Limited, and Nida Naeem member of the Member’s Network panel. Kansai Paint Pakistan holds annual sales conference 2013
The conference was attended by Kansai’s country wide sales management, operations, marketing, finance, technical and support teams. The event served as a good platform for knowledge sharing and discussion between cross functional teams regarding efficient resource utilization. The Sales Conference was marked closed with a dinner and musical evening, which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Outstanding performance and notable contributions of team members were also recognized at an award ceremony the next day; followed by 1 full day of fun where the entire Kansai team visited The Mall Road, Murree. The conference laid the roadmap for 2013, motivating all team members to strive harder towards the achieving goals set of the new year.
Training conducted on High Impact Selling by Mr. Ramiz Allahwala
The training, used a blend of lecture and activity based learning to impart key takeaways. Mr. Ramiz discussed the importance of understanding the offering, 5 steps to selling, building an impactful presentation and key tips on delivering an effective presentation. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the training; gave positive feedback regarding the session and what they learnt during it.
Mr. Ramiz Allahwala consults and trains widely on strategy, leadership, team performance and service management for hyper growth organizations. He has extensive experience in managing companies and providing advisory services. Ramiz has conducted successful training sessions at numerous multinational and national organization, and is the founder of Gulf Stone Leadership Training in USA and Pakistan.

Kansai Paint Japan team visits Kansai Paint Pakistan
KPJ team was also taken around the culturally and historically rich city of Lahore to orient them with the softer side of Pakistan. The Japanese delegates also paid a visit to the local paint market in Pakistan and noted their observations with respect to the environment and usage as areas to further enhance the product performance.
Auto Refinish Training Programme organized by Kansai Paint for FESF Deaf Reach Training Center
A 3 day training was conducted for students of the FESF Deaf Reach Training Center (DRTC), at the Kansai Paint Pakistan factory premises from 13-15 November, 2012 – conducted by Mr. Khurshid Imam, Technical Manager Industrial and Auto-Refinish Coatings.
An estimated 1.5 million Pakistani children are profoundly deaf and cannot attend mainstream schools and have little or no educational and employment opportunities. The training programme organized by Kansai Paint, not only allowed DRTC students to get hands-on technical and applicative knowledge regarding Automotive Refinish Coatings, but was also geared to add value to their skill set for future employment opportunities.
The initiative is one of many, highlighting Kansai Paint’s commitment of giving back to the communities that it works in and being socially responsible.
Providing a creative outlet to talented students across Lahore – Kansai Paint Coloring Competition 2012
Kansai Paint Pakistan in collaboration with The Daily Jang Group of Newspapers – Cultural Wing, organized an engaging coloring competition at schools located throughout Lahore. The activity was kicked off on 6th November and is planned to run throughout the month at various schools.
Participating school include branches of The City School, Beaconhouse School System, The Educator School, Lahore Grammer School, Defence Public School, American International School, Bloomfield Hall School etc. The activity was appreciated by heads of the participating schools for providing a much need outlet for their student’s creative expression.
Along with the prize distribution ceremony, a magic and puppet show was also organized for the students of the participating schools.
Training Workshop on Credit & Collection
Participating organizations included TCS, Pioneer Industries, Akzo Nobel, Zong. Mr. Adeel Ahmed, CFO and Mr. Faisal Mehboob, Accounts Executive represented Kansai Paint Pakistan at the training session. The training session was not only informative but also provided an excellent networking platform for the participants.
Training Workshop on Import Export Management
Umar Zaffar Lodhi, Manager Materials and Purchase and Hina Agha, Assistant Purchase Manager represented Kansai Paint Private Ltd in a two day training workshop on Import and Export management, organized by Recknor’s Institute at The Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, Lahore, on 29th and 30th September 2012. Recknor’s is a highly developed and well known consulting and training firm which provides organizations with extensive training in areas such Accounts, Management, IT and International Trade. Individuals from some leading organizations participated in the workshop.
The main focus of the workshop was the fundamentals of foreign trade management in today’s global economic scenario and management of processes, legal issues and documentation involved in foreign trade. The workshop was led by Mr. Syed Hassnain Haider, a renowned name in Pakistan’s banking sector. Currently working for Bank Alfalah, Mr. Haider’s “hands-on” exposure in the field added further value to the workshop as participants received practical solutions to their queries.
The workshop provided an excellent learning and networking opportunity for the participants.
Training on Supply Chain Management – Achieving optimal Supply Chain performance whilst managing risk
The Society of Mechanical Engineers of Pakistan (SMEP) organized a 2-day workshop at Marvell Hotel Lahore, titled ‘Supply Chain Management – Achieve optimal supply chain performance whilst managing risk’ on 30-31 August 2012. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Aneel Salman, Professor of Economics and Management at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engg Sciences and Technology; and Engr. Mian Masood Ahmed who has an extensive operation management experience in leading FMCG companies in Pakistan and abroad.
The workshop was attended by Umer Zaffer Lodhi, Manager Materials; Miriam Mehdi, Asst. Product Manager – Industrial Coatings; Hassan Sami, Asst. Product Manager – Decorative Coatings; Hina Agha, Technical Trainee Commercial. Participants from other organizations included Pepsi Co., Coca Cola, Pakistan Tobacco Company, Century Paper and Board Mills, Millat Tractors and Fauji Fertilizers.
During the two day programme participants learnt how they can better implement a collaborative planning process at their organizations and how to make their supply chain functions more effective.
Kansai Paint collaborates with Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) to provide paint for upcoming school buildings
Kansai Paint Pvt (Ltd.) has joined hands with FESF to help support their mission of educational development for the disadvantaged. Kansai will be donating and supplying paint materials for three new upcoming FESF school buildings in Karachi, Hyderabad and Nawabshah – revamping these old buildings which have been generously donated to FESF by the Rangoonwala Trust. Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) is a non-profit educational organization working in Pakistan since 1984, to enhance the quality of life for all members of the community, especially those who are disadvantaged. They invest in educational development and provide innovative training programs and services empowering the recipients to gain both competency and self-sufficiency.

Kansai Paint Pvt Ltd. participated in the expo with a colorful stall setup and on-ground activities for visitors, which were highly appreciated by those who visited the stall. Additionally visitors to the expo were also attracted by the sample panels of special decorative finishes displayed at the stall. Kansai Hosts Event For South Region Dealerships
The Dealer Event was organized to bolster the awareness of Kansai’s global presence and to share long term and short term plans with dealers. The event was of significance to the Kansai Team as it gave them a chance to receive market feedback directly from dealers and gave dealers a chance to network with their peers. Dealers were also presented by Certificates of Dealership, followed by dinner. The event was well received amongst dealers.

Couples were put to the test in a fun ‘How well do you know your spouse’ question and answer round – followed by dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the event gave team members and their families the opportunity to get to know each better.
Kansai Participates in the “Super Car & Bike & Home Expo
Kansai is the dominant supplier of automotive paints to the leading car manufacturers in Pakistan, including Honda, Suzuki & Toyota. The new sport addition of Honda City that was specially painted by Kansai Paint, was also on display at the Kansai Stall, and attracted quite a crowd.
Visitors were keen to learn about Kansai, its products and enthusiastically took part in the Kansai Lucky Draw. Numerous lucky winners won the opportunity to get a free room painted by Kansai.

Kansai Pakistan bids farewell to Mr. Yukimitsu Miyagi – VP production, Honda Motor Company
Mr. Miyagi has served a decorated career with the Honda Motor Company, starting his career at the Honda Saitama Plant, Japan in 1977, he has since then has been associated with the organization for the past 34 years. Prior to taking over as Director/VP Production of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Ltd., Mr. Miyagi was Manager of Overseas Production & Business Planning Divisions in Japan. He has vast experience of production planning and vehicle assembling in Japan and overseas assignments and has also served with Honda Malaysia and Honda Philippines for 13 years.
A plant tour, followed by an interactive Q/A session and Hi-tea were organized at the Kansai Plant. Staff members were eager to learn about his professional and personal experience in Pakistan, new developments at Honda Motor Company and his future plans. Mr. Miyagi concluded his speech to the Kansai Team with the following words of advice: “Ganbatte Kudasai” meaning Work hard, keep it up!

The event was an august gathering of Multinational Companies, FMCGs, banks and employers from various sectors of business from all across Pakistan. It was the right platform for all employers to network with the best human resource available in the country.

A memorable evening of laughter and fun was organized for the Kansai Team members leaving them knowing their spouses better both professionally and personally. Friendships amongst Kansai Clan were made and bonds were strengthened.
The Pakistan Auto Parts Show 2011
PAPS 2011 was an august gathering of auto industry professionals covering Pakistan wide leading auto parts manufacturers, OEMs, investors as well as media sponsors and government departments. It was a great platform for the attendants to network being Pakistan’s largest automotive trade show and business forum.
As the leading Supplier of OEM paint, Kansai Paint Pakistan actively participated in event. Our booth was neatly designed and placed at the entrance of Hall 2. As expected, our booth attracted a large number of audiences because of its unique features and colorful design. Kansai demonstrated all automotive, industrial and decorative products at the exhibition.
The event was visited by a large number of buyers from across the world while over 128 multinational national companies displayed their products including manufactures of Cars, Motorcycles, Buses, Tractors and Auto spare parts on this occasion.
Over 10,000 visitors, leading foreign delegations and auto industry’s representatives from China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Australia, Holland, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and India visited the Pakistan Auto Show on the second day of the three-day event, where they showed keen interest in products of local auto manufacturers and parts makers. To improve Brand awareness, Kansai conducted a lucky draw where each attendee was given the opportunity to complete a draw slip for a chance to win a room, painted for free with Kansai products, anywhere in Pakistan. The draw attracted major stall traffic with many a clients and customers were introduced to KPPs decorative portfolio.
A number of Industrial customers showed keen interest in Kansai Paints. The team handled multiple paint related queries to customers including Auto assemblers, vendors, jobbers and many others from varied fields. A number of leads for new industrial business were received during the Exhibition which are expected to materialize into business with proper developmental and commercial follow up.
